How did you guys meet?

When we first crossed paths in 2019 at Northeastern, Jordan was a member of the men’s hockey team while I played for the women’s hockey team. Being two years older than him, I wasn’t initially familiar with who he was. However, I had heard whispers of his name and his impressive achievements through my own team. It was in a dorm room where we finally met and began conversing, and our connection blossomed from there.

What’s his best quality?

His patience is his most notable trait. He possesses an exceptional ability to remain patient with anyone, irrespective of their identity. Whether engaged in conversation or spending time with someone, he willingly offers his undivided attention. His focus on the present moment is truly remarkable, as he prioritizes his current surroundings above anything else. Even if he happens to be a few minutes late, he doesn’t view it as a negative, as he is fully immersed in the company of those around him.

Last season, Jordan was nominated for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy for his work in the community. How would you explain that willingness and desire to give back to the community?

I believe this feeling arises from the influence of the generous individuals we have encountered in our lives. Having the platforms we do, it is obvious to us that giving back is a natural choice, and it brings immense satisfaction. Whenever we participate in events or engage in volunteer work, we find ourselves discussing and relishing the experience for days. Moving forward, no matter what happens, making a difference will always be an integral part of our lives, and we genuinely cherish that.

If you had to pick one song to describe Jordan, what would it be and why?

Jordan is the embodiment of ABBA’s “Dancing Queen.” Behind closed doors, he can’t resist dancing and exudes a carefree and relaxed aura. Among the people I know, he stands out as one of the least judgmental individuals, always radiating positivity. Being in Jordan’s presence feels just like the lightness and joy conveyed in this song.

Does he have any hidden talents or skills that might surprise people?

He possesses exceptional culinary skills, exhibiting immense creativity in the kitchen. I greatly appreciate his talent as he prepares a majority of our meals. Although we often cook together, his solo cooking endeavors leave me in awe, exclaiming, “This is absolutely delicious!” The flavors he creates are reminiscent of high-quality dishes found in esteemed restaurants.

What’s been yours and Jordan’s favorite part about Montreal since you’ve been here?

It’s incredibly difficult to choose just one thing because there are so many great aspects. Above all, the people have been absolutely incredible. They have warmly embraced us and their kindness and passion are truly inspiring. It has been a delightful experience witnessing their genuine enthusiasm. The cuisine is absolutely outstanding. We have discovered a few cherished places that we keep going back to because the service, the food, everything is simply beyond belief.
