Utah Hockey Club Signs Defenseman Artem Duda to Entry-Level Contract

The Utah Hockey Club made an official statement today, declaring the acquisition of defenseman Artem Duda under an entry-level contract.

Last season, Duda, who was 20 years old at the time, played 12 games with Toronto Metro University (USports) and recorded 2 goals, 5 assists, 7 points, and 10 penalty minutes (PIM). Additionally, he contributed 2 goals, 4 assists, and 6 points in six playoff games.

During the 2022-23 season, the defenseman, standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 187 pounds, showcased his skills by recording 5 goals, 8 assists, and a total of 13 points in 14 games with Krasnaya Armiya Moscow (MHL). His outstanding performance earned him a well-deserved spot in the MHL All-Star game. Additionally, he also contributed to CSKA Moscow (KHL) by participating in 14 games and providing three crucial assists.

Duda, originally from Moscow, Russia, tallied 14 goals and 27 assists, accumulating a total of 41 points in 52 games while playing for Krasnaya Armiya Moscow. Additionally, during the 2021-22 season, Duda showcased his exceptional skills by notching 5 goals and 12 assists, totaling 17 points in 18 playoff games, thus leading all MHL defensemen in playoff scoring.

In the 2022 NHL Draft, Duda was initially chosen by the Arizona Coyotes in the second round, being selected 36th overall.
