As Spain, the USWNT, and reigning champion Canada gear up to compete for gold in this summer’s Games, GOAL highlights several names worth watching closely.

The men’s football tournament at the Olympics is exclusively for players under the age of 23. In contrast, the women’s tournament is open to senior players, making it highly esteemed in the sport. Consequently, we can expect to witness the presence of some of the world’s top-notch players in France this summer, as they compete for the coveted gold medal.

After winning the Women's World Cup last summer, Spain will go into the event as favourites to stand on top of that podium in Paris next month, but the United States women's national team, now under the charge of Chelsea icon Emma Hayes, has taken big steps forward in the past 12 months.
