Some South Africans firmly believe that Masandawana will face a challenging season due to their difficulties during the pre-season.

Premier Soccer League champions Mamelodi Sundowns have not had an easy pre-season having lost two and drawn one out of the three friendly games played.

After the departure of 37-year-old coach Rhulani Mokwena, the Brazilians are currently undergoing a restructuring process. Mokwena has now been officially confirmed as the coach of Wydad Athletic Club.

Under the guidance of new coach Nasreddine Nabi, Kaizer Chiefs are in the process of rebuilding, while Orlando Pirates are continuing their development with Jose Riveiro.

The aforementioned factors have resulted in a variety of conclusions, including differing opinions on Downs’ potential challenges during the 2024/25 season.
