Due to his Al Ahly contract expiring in June 2025, the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns player has become a topic of transfer speculation.

Percy Tau joined the Red Devils three seasons ago, making a move from Premier League team Brighton and Hove Albion to the Egyptian giants in 2021.

For the most part, his experience in Egypt has been a success as the Witbank-born star managed to overcome initial challenges and secure his position in the team.

One of the most decorated South African players, he has achieved great success with the club, securing multiple trophies, including two Caf Champions League titles.

Nevertheless, recent reports have surfaced indicating that the 30-year-old is being sought after by other clubs, despite having less than a year remaining on his existing contract.

Tau’s exceptional quality makes him a magnet for interest from every corner of the globe.

According to recent reports, several clubs are already said to have contacted Al Ahly about securing his services.

It is believed that Kaizer Chiefs, the dominant force in the PSL, are among the clubs vying for Tau’s signature. Additionally, there are some Saudi Pro League teams in pursuit of him, although their names remain undisclosed.

Here, GOAL discusses some of the reasons why Tau should ignore the lowball Saudi offers and come home to help rebuild the once mighty Glamour Boys.
