Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever have overcome a sluggish start this season and now find themselves in a favorable position in the WNBA playoff standings. With only two games left before the Summer Olympics break, a victory against the Minnesota Lynx on the road today (4:00 pm ET, ESPN) would further bolster their current standing.
The Fever (10-14) achieved double digits in wins on Friday by defeating the Phoenix Mercury with a score of 95-86. Clark had an impressive performance, scoring 20 points, providing 13 assists, and securing six rebounds. Additionally, she contributed two blocks and a steal. This marked her fifth consecutive game with ten or more assists and her ninth game of the season with 20 or more points.
As the game kicks off at the Target Center, the Fever find themselves in seventh place in the WNBA standings. They maintain a slim lead of half a game over the Chicago Sky (9-14), who suffered a defeat against the New York Liberty in their previous match.
With the exception of their four-game victory run last month, the Fever have struggled to achieve consecutive wins. Is there a possibility of a change today? The Lynx (16-7) might have to face the absence of WNBA MVP contender Napheesa Collier for the fifth consecutive game, although she has been upgraded to questionable and her participation will be decided at game-time.

Indiana Fever vs Minnesota Lynx Betting Analysis
Being upgraded to questionable after being sidelined often indicates that a player will likely play.
Is it possible that this will be the case with Collier? Considering her upcoming trip to Paris with the U.S. women’s Olympic team, it seems unlikely that she would be willing to take a risk for a relatively unimportant regular season game.
There is a chance that she may make a comeback on the court today, as she could be aiming to brush off any rustiness before her journey to the Olympics.
However, even if she is absent for a fifth consecutive game, the Lynx are still expected to handle the Fever at home.
If Collier was not part of the team, Minnesota’s record would be 2-2. They experienced losses against the Connecticut Sun and Seattle Storm, but also secured wins against the Washington Mystics and Los Angeles Sparks.
The Fever have significantly improved as a unit since earlier in the season, thanks to the valuable contributions of their core players: Clark, Aliyah Boston, Kelsey Mitchell, and NaLyssa Smith. Their recent performance against the Mercury, where they scored 95 points, marks the ninth time in their last 11 games that they have reached 80+ points.
Minnesota excels on their home turf, particularly when facing weaker teams in the league. Despite acknowledging Indiana’s progress and future growth, they still fall into that category.
Indiana Fever vs Minnesota Lynx Prediction & Picks
Fever vs Lynx Prediction: Lynx to win
Fever vs Lynx Picks: Lynx -6.5 & Caitlin Clark over 33.5 points + rebounds + assists (-113 at BetOnline)
Apart from beating the Mercury twice, the Fever have only managed to win one out of their eleven games against the top six teams in the WNBA standings (New York Liberty, Connecticut Sun, Minnesota Lynx, Las Vegas Aces, Seattle Storm, and Phoenix Mercury). On the other hand, the Lynx have a much better record of nine wins and one loss against the bottom half of the WNBA (Indiana Fever, Chicago Sky, Atlanta Dream, Los Angeles Sparks, Washington Mystics, and Dallas Wings).
