In fact, four drivers (Verstappen, Leclerc, Lando Norris, and Carlos Sainz Jr.) have already clinched a victory, compared to last season’s three winners (Verstappen, Sainz, and Sergio Perez), despite having 14 fewer races.

Is it likely that the number will go up today? Verstappen, for the second consecutive race, will not be starting in the top position. George Russell, on the other hand, secured his second Formula 1 pole of his career by outperforming Verstappen. Remarkably, both drivers finished with identical times, but since Russell set his time (1:12.000) earlier, he was awarded the pole position.

However, despite being unable to start a new pole streak, Verstappen remains the frontrunner to win the Canadian Grand Prix, according to the latest odds.
