He not only has the worst pitcher matchup rating on Batters-Box.com, but he also has the lowest average hitter matchup strikeout percentage I’ve seen all season, at just 7.41%. It’s a small sample size with only 22 innings pitched since his call-up, but I’m a firm believer in the power of numbers, so I’m going to ride with them.
To put it into perspective, only 7.41% of pitchers achieve a strikeout rate of 5.5 or higher when facing hitters with an average strikeout rate of 32% or higher. This demonstrates just how significantly low 7.41% is.
Furthermore, the Rangers exhibit remarkable discipline as a team, holding the impressive sixth position in strikeout rate. Notably, none of their batters surpass the league’s strikeout rate in this particular matchup. Additionally, Texas boasts two exceptional hitters while lacking any poorly rated ones. Considering all these advantageous factors, the Rangers’ offense appears poised for a triumphant evening.
