Despite facing significant struggles in the early weeks of the WNBA season, the Washington Mystics and Indiana Fever are now experiencing a surge of positive energy as they gear up to compete against each other tonight at Gainbridge Fieldhouse (7:00 pm ET, NBA TV).
Despite starting the season with twelve consecutive losses, the Mystics (2-12) have managed to secure victories in their most recent two games. Although they currently sit at the bottom of the WNBA standings, they are only 2.5 games away from catching up to the Fever (5-10) in the eighth place position.
Indiana has secured the position with three victories in four games, and they head into tonight’s match with the confidence of winning back-to-back games for the first time this season.
Tonight’s game will be the Fever’s final home game before they start a five-game road trip. During this trip, they will go up against the Dream, Sky, Storm, Mercury, and Aces. It is unlikely that they will achieve much success during this stretch, so winning tonight’s game will help lessen the impact if they struggle to secure wins on the road.

Washington Mystics vs Indiana Fever Betting Analysis
Is the Fever beginning to develop cohesiveness and acquire the ability to secure victories as a team?
The Fever dominated in Sunday’s game against the Chicago Sky, winning 91-83 in a highly anticipated match that drew the largest WNBA viewership since 2001. Their impressive shooting percentages of 56.5% from the field and 44.4% from three-point range contributed to their victory. Four players scored 15 or more points, with Caitlin Clark leading the team with 23 points, including 7 of 11 field goals, 3 of 7 three-pointers, and a perfect 6 of 6 from the free-throw line. Clark also contributed nine assists and eight rebounds. Aliyah Boston had a standout performance as well, scoring 19 points, grabbing 14 rebounds, blocking five shots, and providing four assists.
In the previous game against the Atlanta Dream, Boston (27 points, 13 rebounds) and Kelsey Mitchell (24 points) teamed up to contribute more than half of Indiana’s total points. Following that impressive performance, they continued their remarkable form in the next game.
Despite the persistent issue of injuries, the Mystics have many reasons to be optimistic at the moment. Last week, they triumphed over the Dream during Brittney Sykes’ temporary return to the game. Furthermore, they managed to secure a victory against the Sky on Friday, even with Sykes sidelined once again after sustaining an injury in the fourth quarter of their win against Atlanta.
I’m not particularly excited about choosing a side of the spread for this game, but I’m truly inclined towards the over. When they played in D.C. on June 7, the Fever emerged victorious with a score of 85-83. Clark had an outstanding performance, scoring 30 points and making seven three-pointers, which was her season-high.
In the initial ten games, the Mystics managed to score 80 or more points only on two occasions. However, in their most recent four games, they have achieved this feat consistently. During this impressive streak, they have been averaging an outstanding 85.3 points per game.
The Fever, on the other hand, have achieved a score of 80 or more points in five out of their seven games played at home. They have also reached the 80-point milestone in nine out of their 15 games this season. Additionally, in 11 out of Indiana’s 15 games, the total score has exceeded 167.5 points, including six home games.
