Philadelphia Phillies vs Boston Red Sox, Prediction, Odds & Best Bets (6/12)

Tonight, at the iconic Fenway Park, the Boston Red Sox will be hosting the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 2 of a thrilling 3-game series. This matchup showcases two esteemed northeast teams. Interestingly, this series marks the sole occasion for these teams to face off this year. The Phillies have the opportunity to secure the series victory if they emerge triumphant tonight.

Philadelphia defeated Boston yesterday with a score of 4-1. Kyle Schwarber showcased his power by hitting two home runs, one in the 1st inning and another in the 5th. Zack Wheeler delivered an exceptional performance on the mound, pitching 7 innings and allowing only 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 4 batters. Today’s starting pitchers are left-hander Christopher Sanchez for the Phillies and Nick Pivetta for the Red Sox.

Will the Phillies maintain their momentum or will the Red Sox secure a victory at Fenway?

This year, Rafael Devers is at the forefront of the Red Sox, leading both in Home Runs and Batting Average.

Can Sanchez Shove Against Red Sox?

Will Christopher Sanchez be able to maintain his strong performance on the mound for the Phillies?

There is no doubt that the Phillies are the most dominant team in baseball this season. With a remarkable 46-20 record, they currently lead the National League and boast a comfortable 10-game lead in the NL East. What’s even more impressive is that three of their starting pitchers have been performing at a Cy Young level. Surprisingly, tonight’s pitcher is not among those three, but he has been delivering exceptional performances lately. Therefore, I anticipate him to continue his impressive streak.

Philadelphia has won 8 out of their last 10 games and has a road record of 19-10 this season. Based on Sanchez’s performance, I anticipate that he will excel in the upcoming game. Sanchez has made a total of 12 starts this season, and his last 4 starts have been exceptionally well. Interestingly, 2 of those starts were at home and the other 2 were on the road.

Sanchez’s ERA and WHIP significantly improve in the last four starts, decreasing from 2.71 to 1.49 and 1.34 to 1.08, respectively. The Red Sox, as a team, have a batting average of .245 and struggle against left-handed pitchers, dropping to .235 at Fenway Park. Their performance at home has been subpar with a record of 14-19 this season. Additionally, the team is currently facing a slump, losing three out of their last four games and five out of their last eight, including two losses against the Chicago White Sox.

In my opinion, I believe the Phillies are a highly focused team, and despite playing away from home, I will support them for a great value.

Philadelphia Phillies vs Boston Red Sox Best Bets

Tonight, we are fully supporting Bryce Harper and the Phillies.

Best Bet: Phillies ML (-111) BetOnline

Are you kidding me? The Phillies at -111? In this economy? Absolutely, I’m jumping on that bandwagon.

The nearest line available is (-120) in the market, but the consensus is closer to (-125), indicating that we have an advantage of over 10 cents in this play. The Phillies have a strong batting performance, ranking 6th in the MLB with a .254 average. When playing away games, they improve to 5th place with a .257 average. Even against right-handed pitchers, their performance only slightly drops to .249.

After an impressive performance, Nick Pivetta concluded his last start with a remarkable achievement. He managed to pitch 7 innings without allowing any runs against Atlanta, only conceding 1 hit and 2 walks. However, it should be noted that he encountered some difficulties in his previous two starts, where he suffered consecutive losses. During those games, he gave up a total of 7 runs on 10 hits within just 8.2 innings. This upcoming match is a bit uncertain for me, but considering the pitching matchup and the price tag, I am inclined to make an automatic bet.
