Christopher Bell, who accidentally revealed the undisclosed news that he won’t be the sole “CB” at Joe Gibbs Racing in the upcoming year, will be striving to secure a few NASCAR victories at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. His quest begins with today’s SciAps 200 at 3:00 pm ET in the USA.
Stewart-Haas Racing is set to close its operations by the end of the current season, leaving their Cup Series and Xfinity Series drivers without a team. There has been widespread speculation that Briscoe will be joining JGR next season, and Bell unintentionally confirmed this yesterday with a slip of the tongue.
Returning to the ongoing track activity, Bell will kick off his Xfinity Series season with NASCAR’s top two series in Loudon this weekend.
Bell has emerged victorious in this race three times. His triumphs occurred in 2018 and 2019, during his tenure as an Xfinity Series regular, and once again in 2021. Among all competitors, only Kyle Busch surpasses Bell’s record with six wins, while Brad Keselowski stands as the sole other driver to have secured victory multiple times with two wins.
Bell has qualified 23rd but oddsmakers are still very bullish on his chances to take the checkered flag, as he sits atop the SciAps 200 odds ahead of Chandler Smith and polesitter Cole Custer.

SciAps 200 Predictions & Picks
Sam Mayer clinched his second victory of the season by triumphing at the Hy-Vee PERKS 250 at Iowa Speedway last week, leading him to Victory Lane once again.
Mayer’s triumph extended his scorching streak of success. Out of his previous nine races, the JR Motorsports driver has achieved a remarkable seven top-four finishes, clinching two victories along the way.
Do you think he will maintain his winning streak this week at the SciAps 200? He secured a third-place qualification, so his chances look promising. Interestingly, his odds of finishing in the top five are even at Bovada, while he has a +200 chance of securing a top-three position. This is surprising considering his recent accomplishments and starting position in the race. It presents a fantastic opportunity to take advantage of great value. It’s highly recommended to bet on him for a top-five finish and consider adding some extra for a top-three placement.
Also, despite starting on pole, Custer is just -120 for a top-five finish and +160 for a top-three finish. The defending Xfinity Series champion and current points leader just missed out on a seventh top-five finish of the season last week, settling for a 12th top-ten finish instead by coming in sixth.
Custer is set to start on pole for the fourth time this season. Although he hasn’t managed to secure victory from this advantageous position, he has consistently finished in the top five. In previous races, he achieved second place in Las Vegas, fifth place in Phoenix, and third place in Darlington. Without a doubt, we can expect him to secure another top five finish in the upcoming race.
Finally, the spotlight falls on the deserving winners for this week’s pick. However, it won’t be Custer, as polesitters rarely secure victory, unlike in Formula 1. Instead, two other drivers will receive the nod.
I’m still big on Bell’s hopes to win despite where he’ll start, but there’s no real value in backing him for the victory. Instead, I’m giving the nod to Chandler Smith, who will start second, and a frequent favorite, Justin Allgaier, who will start 12th. Smith won in Las Vegas when Custer started on pole, and Allgaier won at Darlington when Custer started on pole.
