It is a challenging task to defy the oddsmakers’ predictions in this situation, considering Joe Pyfer’s impressive performance leading up to UFC 303. Although he suffered a tough defeat against Jack Hermansson in February, it is important to acknowledge Pyfer’s streak of triumphs against five consecutive opponents prior to that loss. On the other hand, Marc-André Barriault is an experienced fighter, but his track record does not include notable victories, having only finished two opponents out of his last six fights.

Props are unavailable for now, so let’s go with Under 2.5 total rounds. After all, the Under is 12-1 in Pyfer’s last 13 bouts.

Cub Swanson vs. Andre Fili — Featherweight

Despite the heavily favored odds, there is still a possibility for this fight to unfold in either competitor’s favor. Swanson’s recent record stands at 4-2 in his last six fights; however, he has been absent from the octagon since August 2023 and is currently 40 years old. On the other hand, Andre Fili has experienced a mixture of outcomes in his past seven fights, with a record of 2-4 and a no-contest. His most recent match resulted in a first-round knockout loss to Dan Ige.

I’d avoid betting on this fight altogether, however, back the Under on the 2.5-round total if you want to get in on the action. Not only is the Under 3-2 in Swanson’s last five fights but it’s also 4-2 in Fili’s six previous outings.

Charles Jourdain vs. Jean Silva — Featherweight

There is a possibility for this featherweight fight to steal the show. Charles Jourdain, an experienced fighter, is determined to bounce back from a split-decision defeat against Sean Woodson. On the other hand, Jean Silva aims to secure his 10th consecutive victory following a TKO win over Westin Wilson in his first UFC appearance.

I’m taking the underdog to win this bout. While Jourdain has more experience and is slightly bigger, Silva is the better grappler of the two and hasn’t lost a fight in over six years. Sparks should fly as the 27-year-old continues his hot streak.

Payton Talbott vs. Yanis Ghemmouri — Bantamweight

With a win probability of 94.8%, Payton Talbott emerges as the top contender on the UFC 303 card, boasting -1800 moneyline odds. Having triumphed over seven out of eight opponents, Talbott’s UFC record stands at an impressive 2-0 after securing a TKO victory against Cameron Saaiman in March.

After Yanis Ghemmouri was TKO’d by William Gomis in his debut, it’s clear that we shouldn’t expect an upset. Three of Talbott’s last four fights reached Round 3, though, making the Over the best bet here.

Michelle Waterson-Gomez vs. Gillian Robertson — Women’s Strawweight

Although upsets are a common occurrence in sports, I highly doubt we will see one in the upcoming UFC 303 fight. Michelle Waterson-Gomez has rightfully earned the underdog title, given her unfortunate track record of losing six out of her last seven fights. Furthermore, she has faced defeat in her last four consecutive fights, including a second-round TKO loss to Marina Rodriguez in September.

Despite not being flawless, Gillian Robertson has an advantageous position to secure a victory due to her four wins in her previous six fights. One of her notable achievements was the TKO victory over Polyana Viana, which earned her the prestigious ‘performance of the night’ accolade at UFC 297.

Andrei Arlovski vs. Martin Buday — Heavyweight

Andrei Arlovski’s prime has long passed as he prepares for UFC 303, having suffered three consecutive defeats, two of which were by knockout or submission. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion now faces the challenge of Martin Buday, who is determined to bounce back after a knockout loss to Shamil Gaziev just seven months ago.

Arlovski needs to hang up the gloves at this point because the 45-year-old no longer belongs in the cage. Three of Buday’s last five fights went the distance, though, while seven of Arlovski’s last 10 did the same, making the Over the best available betting option.

Rei Tsuruya vs. Carlos Hernandez — Flyweight

I won’t dwell too much on this upcoming fight, as it appears to be quite one-sided. Rei Tsuruya, with a perfect 9-0 record in MMA, is making his debut and seems to be a formidable opponent. On the other hand, Carlos Hernandez has had a rough start in the UFC, being finished twice in his first three fights, and doesn’t seem to be at the same level as his competition in the promotion.

Tsuruya’s impressive 88.9% finish rate suggests that he is likely to conclude things early.

Ricky Simon vs. Vinicius Oliveira — Bantamweight

In March, Vinicius Oliveira made his debut by securing a victory against Bernando Sopai, marking his third consecutive knockout triumph. Currently, Oliveira is scheduled to go head-to-head with Ricky Simon, who is in dire need of a win following two consecutive losses, a situation he hasn’t encountered in the past five years.

Even though Simon has more experience, I’m going with an upset. Oliveira has solid potential and has the perfect opportunity to catch his opponent in the middle of a slump. It won’t be easy, but sprinkling some money on an Oliveira upset is worth it.
