The beginning of the WNBA season has been quite remarkable. With the Paris Olympics approaching, the league is now on a roughly 4-week hiatus. During this break, let’s take a moment to reflect on some notable events that have already occurred and anticipate what awaits us in the future.
The season began with a few unexpected turn of events, both at the start and towards the end of the first half. Initially, the Las Vegas Aces encountered a challenging beginning. However, they have managed to secure the 5th position in the league. Notably, A’ja Wilson has been performing exceptionally well this season, with an impressive average of 27.2 points and 12 rebounds per game.
In the Western Conference, the Minnesota Lynx and Seattle Storm are currently sharing the leading position. Presently, the Lynx hold the 3rd seed while the Storm hold the 4th seed. Although both teams have been unexpectedly successful, Seattle’s performance is not entirely surprising due to their offseason addition of strong players.
The league is witnessing a surge in rookie talent, propelling it to unprecedented heights. Caitlin Clark, in particular, has made a significant impact this season. Although she faced some initial challenges, once she found her rhythm alongside her teammates, her performance skyrocketed. Remarkably, Clark became the first rookie in league history to achieve a Triple Double. Moreover, the Fever’s success has been notable, with 11 wins and a current playoff spot.
Angel Reese, a notable player for the Chicago Sky, has made quite an impact. By achieving a remarkable feat of 15 consecutive double doubles, she has set a fresh league record. Reese’s contributions have been instrumental in lifting her team, resulting in a total of 10 victories and securing their position in the last playoff spot.

We have already discussed two Eastern teams, but let’s now focus on the top-ranked team, shall we? Unsurprisingly, the New York Liberty hold the top position not only in the Eastern Conference but also in the entire league.
The Liberty, who are the reigning Eastern Conference champions, have their sights set on returning to the Finals. Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart remain at the forefront of this team’s leadership. Stewart, who had an exceptional MVP season last year, is eager to build on her success.
The Connecticut Sun, led by DeWanna Bonner and Alyssa Thomas, are a formidable team that can pose a threat to their opponents. With a gritty playing style, they currently hold a record of 18-6 and are trailing the Liberty by 2.5 games for the top spot in the league.

Upon analyzing their schedule, it appears that they have two matchups against the Dream and two against the Mystics, all of which seem highly favorable for victory.
In the upcoming matches, they will be up against formidable opponents such as the Liberty and Sun. If they manage to secure at least one victory against these two teams in four games, we will have reached the halfway point. Although it might require some additional expenses, this should be a simple way to earn some cash.

This team, currently ranked second in the league, offers incredible value. They are just 2.5 games behind the top spot. While the sportsbooks may doubt their abilities, I firmly believe in their capability to succeed.
Connecticut enters the playoffs with a slight grudge after their loss to the Liberty in last year’s Conference Finals. I believe that Alyssa Thomas hasn’t reached her full potential yet, and she still has a lot more to offer. It’s only a matter of time until she reaches her peak performance and starts dominating.
